  • Working Principle

    The soft capsule production line operates on the core principle of forming uniform gelatin sheets, precisely filling materials, and sealing them into intact soft capsules through systematic, automated coordination of each unit. It integrates gelatin melting, sheet forming, filling, sealing, drying and other processes to ensure efficient, standardized production that meets GMP and FDA standards for pharmaceutical, health care and food industries.

    First, pharmaceutical-grade gelatin, glycerin and purified water are mixed and melted at a constant temperature (60-70℃) to form a homogeneous, bubble-free gelatin solution. The vacuum degassing process removes air bubbles from the solution to prevent pinholes or defects on the capsule shell, which is crucial for ensuring the sealing performance of soft capsules.

    Next, the melted gelatin solution is evenly coated on precision rotating rollers to form thin, consistent gelatin sheets. The thickness of the sheets is strictly controlled to ensure the stability and uniformity of the capsule shell thickness, which directly affects the quality and appearance of the final soft capsules.

    The gelatin sheets are then fed into the molding and filling unit, where the filling system (equipped with precision pumps) accurately injects the prepared materials (oil, paste, suspension, etc.) between two layers of gelatin sheets. Simultaneously, the mold rollers with customized patterns apply appropriate temperature (80-90℃) and pressure to seal the edges of the gelatin sheets, forming soft capsules of the desired shape (round, oval, special-shaped) and size.

    After forming, the soft capsules are conveyed to the shaping and drying unit. The tumbler drying process controls the moisture content of the capsules to 12%-15%, preventing stickiness or brittleness and ensuring the stability of the capsule shell. During drying, the capsules are gently tumbled to ensure uniform drying and avoid deformation.

    Finally, the dried soft capsules go through sorting and inspection to remove defective products (such as leakage, deformation, or uneven filling). Qualified capsules are then packaged to complete the entire production process. The whole line is controlled by a PLC system to realize automatic operation, reducing manual intervention, ensuring stable production efficiency and consistent product quality.
